An annual All-Star game to honour and celebrate the life of former local basketball chairman, Joe Grainger who sadly passed away in 2020.  Team Gloucester v Team Bristol with current, former and future professionals putting on a show for a great cause.

Joe played for Gloster Jets and Swindon Sonics and progressed as a junior England international before focusing on coaching and volunteering most notably as Chairman of local club, Gloucester Saxons.

He was a unique and widely loved member of the basketball community, leading the initial conversation around seeing professional basketball brought to the county and it providing local players in the county life changing opportunities.

Our ethos of inclusivity was a core value in Joe's beliefs as a chairman, coach and person.  Our wish is for all who join us as a club to remember his valued work and contribution to the foundations of Gloucester City Basketball.
