Wheelchair basketball joins Gloucester City family


Gloucester City Basketball are delighted to see the Gloucester Blazers Wheelchair Basketball come under the umbrella of the club. This official partnership will see the club support the Blazers with promotion, business development and a new home at St Peter's High School.


Wheelchair basketball is one of the worlds most popular para sports with hundreds of thousands of people participating in the sport in over 100 countries worldwide.


CEO, Jay Marriott had this to say:

We are really excited to welcome the Gloucester Blazers onboard. Terry and his board are passionate about growing participation in the county and we are honoured to be able to support them in achieving their goals. We are committed to championing and embedding inclusion and diversity across the sport in this county and the Blazers represent another opportunity to remove barriers for individuals to get involved in basketball.

Gloucester Blazers Chairman, Terry Wells had this to say:

We are really looking forward to joining Gloucester City Basketball and help raise awareness of our club and hopefully bring in some fresh faces. We have a desire to grow the club and see it return to some former glories. Our primary aim is participation and promotion within the county whilst planning our return to league status.
