Queens sign rising star

Gloucester City Queens are delighted to have secured the signature of young GB international starlet, Molly James. The South West product is returning home to continue her development. Having shone in the Bristol Flyers program, Molly James secured a move up to the Leicester Riders where she continued to grow as one of the hottest young prospects in the UK, gaining valuable WBBL experience in their 2020 trophy winning season. This was enough to secure a scholarship to the USA where this season she has been with Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Gloucester City Queens Head Coach, Jay Marriott said:

"We are so happy to see Molly join our program. As a local girl who has already achieved so much in the game of basketball at a young age, we hope this will inspire a generation of girl's to pick up a basketball and dream. For Molly we think we are the perfect fit for her style of game and we are in a place where we can give her the time necessary to grow into this level of play. There is no doubt she has huge potential and we will work with her to continue her development. Her father has made a huge contribution to basketball development in this area, a legend of a former player and now our lead commentary for the Queens, what a special moment for both of them to share this season and beyond."

Molly James will make her debut on the road this weekend versus the Caledonia Pride as both teams make their bid for the WBBL playoffs.
