Queens back in the city

After an 8 week absence of home games the Gloucester City Queens finally return to Oxstalls Sports Park, this Sunday at 4:30pm, to face off against the Nottingham Wildcats. These two teams are fresh off an epic BBL trophy showdown this past weekend, that saw the Wildcats edge the Queens up in Nottingham.

Gloucester City Queens Head Coach, Jay Marriott had this to say:

"It's been such a strange first season for us in the WBBL, there have been highs and lows with two forced extended breaks that have halted our form and rhythm. There is no place like home so to return after 8 weeks will be a great feeling. We are hoping our fans come back and show the league why this city is a great place for a basketball franchise."

With the Queens returning to the city it will give fans a chance to see exciting new January signings Carol Marques and Shanice Turner as they look to get their league campaign back on track.

Coach Marriott continued to say:

"Carol and Shan have been like a breath of fresh air for us. We were all devastated at the loss of Maura and it showed in the following fixtures, she was our leader so the effect was huge. With Carol and Shan onboard we have not only added great talent but also great people, they have given us a new lease of life."
