Gloucester City Basketball are delighted to announce a new partnership that will see them return to the Oxstalls Sports Park Arena for the 2024/25 season.
Gloucester City Basketball GM, Jay Marriott had this to say:
I want to personally thanks Karl and Iain at Freedom Leisure for helping to make this a reality for us. Venue issues last season saw us having to make a last minute change that put significant strain on us as a club so to see the willing and passion to see us return has been overwhelming. With basketball becoming a performance sport at the University of Gloucestershire last year and us running the BUCS programme last season we wanted to see this all come together at the arena, which will help us to continue to grow the sport in the county. We have big plans with the University and our own club which this significantly helps us as we move forward.
Area Manager of Freedom Leisure, Karl Allen had this to say:
We are really excited to welcome Gloucester City Kings back to the arena. This partnership ensures we have high level basketball in the city and local residents of Gloucester now have a choice of rugby, football, netball and now basketball. If you have never seen LIVE basketball befroe come down and give it a try.
Gloucester City Kings first game back in the arena will be against the USA Select in pre-season action on Sunday 1st September at 2pm.
