Gloucester City Kings announce the signing of Mike Keith. The veteran guard brings a wealth of experience from higher levels places such as Sheffield and Bristol, having started his basketball career with the Gloster Jets. He is a physical, scoring guard that gives the squad a new dynamic.
Mike Keith had this to say:
I'm really looking forward to playing with the Kings this season, I've had some time out of the game but have acclimatized quickly as I have kept myself in good shape. It's a talented and hard working group of people that I've enjoyed being around. The organisation, coaching team, backroom staff and players are all hungry to put basketball in Gloucestershire back on the map. With 25 plus years of experience I'll help in anyway way I can to make sure the team succeeds.
Head Coach, Jimmy Bower had this to say:
I was delighted to hear that Mike wanted to return to the game and feeling the time was right to come and help us. I talk constantly about this being local players with local connections playing a big role in what we are trying to achieve as a club, Mike's passion for success is another strong piece to our puzzle. He is renown for his ability to score the ball and being a physical guard who can look after the ball under pressure. I'm careful not to push him too hard as he gets back to on-court fitness but he has come in great shape and has fit right in with our team and culture.
