Future stars a legacy for Joe

This weekend the Grainger Cup will see some of Gloucestershire's brightest young stars take the court and present the future for basketball in the county.

As we look to remember the legacy of local chairman, Joe Grainger, there will be no better way than seeing players he has impacted able to showcase their skills in front of a packed house at Oxstalls Arena.

A theme throughout the young players who spent time with Joe was how inspirational he was and his dream of providing more in the local area.

Will Headman had this to say:

Joe trained us during our time at Gloucester Saxons and it was the best training I had at the club. He was an inspirational guy who wanted the best for us.

Fin Rawlings had this to say:

Joe coached me at my very first basketball camp, he made me feel welcome and included. He always had time for me and helping me with my skills. Even when Joe was unwell he always made the effort to come to the club and help support especially at CVL's.

Will and Fin will be joined by Tom Headman and Frank Mustoe as they represent Team Gloucester in memory of Joe and for charity, the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
